Since purchasing a Tempur mattress I wake up early every moring and my body contact area with the mattress feels very hot, I also wake up with a headache, I assume that is the heat. Can I do something to avoid this. I was assured by the salesman at Furniture Village that this would not happen.

Hi David,

Thank you for your enquiry via our website. Memory foam is renowned for heat retention and in fact it requires body heat to be able to mould to the shape of your body, however, it then tends to emit this heat back to the user making them hot.

Latex 100% Natural Mattress Topper

You could try applying a mattress topper, either natural fibres, latex or hybrid foam. This will provide a barrier between you and the mattress, but as the memory foam needs heat to work correctly, it may negate the comfort of the mattress. I would question the advice given by the retailer regarding the heat generated by memory foam.

I trust that this helps. If you would like any further information please do not hesitate to contact the office on 0161 437 4419.

Kind Regards,
