Platform or sprung base?

Some advice please!
We have bought a Sealy Napoli 1200 pocket sprung mattress for my mum along with a platform base. She is not happy that the base isn't sprung and feels that we have wasted money on the mattress if it is on the "wrong base". Is she right?
Would the mattress feel any different on a sprung base?
I have looked on the sealy website and the pictures of a pocket sprung mattress are on a platform base anyway?

Thanks for your question.
I can understand your mums point of view but I don't think the mattress would be significantly more comfortable with a sprung edged base.
We do have a range of sprung bases, but i would not be able to say whether or not it would make a massive difference.
