I am planning to replace a kingsize mattress on a Sealy sprung base. I am 12 stone and 6ft. I think I need a medium tension with suitable soft layer? Would you confirm/advise on this and suggest a model. Also, have you, by chance, such a mattress returned under your generous policy. I appreciate all your guidance notes since all the various sales staff I have encountered have no idea what they are selling and tension guides are many and varied!
Thank you,

Hi Neil,

Thank you for your questions.

You are absolutely correct; At 12st we would definitely match you to a Medium spring tension.

The spring tension is what gives the support from within the mattress itself.

Given that you are looking for something with a soft layer I would guide you to our Artisan Luxury mattress. This is the softest mattress that we offer in it's comfort layers and very much gives a luxurious sink in sensation.

As this range is constructed from natural fibres and materials they are generally cooler and overall softer than our starter range (Origins).

We do have a very small percentage of mattresses returned to us under our 60 Day Love It or Return It guarantee but this isn't necessarily due to it being soft on the top layer.

This mattress is absolutely fine to go on to a Sprung base; We just advise that a sprung base will make the mattress feel slightly softer than if it were to go on to a solid base.

I trust that this has answered your questions fully but if you do have any further queries then please don't hesitate to contact me on 0161 437 4419.

Kind Regards, Lee.
