Replacing foam mattress advice

A customer asked

Hi John and Ryan, I have been sleeping on a foam mattress approx 15cm in depth.

From day one this mattress was too firm for me but I managed to get through the last 8 years with a topper.

Anyway I am at a stage that I buy another mattress (for my sprung slat bed base)and throw my now lumpy foam mattress out, but I find it very difficult to part with £1000s of pound for a mattress, hence finding your site.

I did go into Dreams bed store and try a few out and the one which felt comfortable, the one instore that felt good was a PENZANCE Mattress and the Zen Revitalise mattress.

I am 70kg in weight and 5’ 6” in height, the mattress I would like would be a medium firmness mattress one which feels comfy to sink in a bit.

I would like a hypoallergenic and dust mite resistant and am interested in if latex will provide a comfy sleep.

Please advise your product suggestions in your range.

Hi SP.

The Penzance from dreams is just a memory foam on pocket spring mattress and at £679 for the double I would say our Origins Latex 1500 (Ideal for your bodyweight) would be a more than fair comparison.

John Ryan By Design Origins Latex
1 300 gsm Wool Silk blend pad
2 3cm Talalay Latex (60/40% blend) 70kg Density
3 3cm Talalay Latex (60/40% blend) 70kg Density
4 One inch HD Foam
5 1500 Spun Bond Pocket Springs

Likewise and even moreso for the Zen Revitalise.

If you require any further assistance please give the office a call on 0161 437 4419

John and Ryan.
