Replacing memory foam mattress

A customer asked

Hello John, I am 5ft 3" and weigh 82kg. I sleep on my side and also on my back. I currently have a cheap memory foam mattress which pushes my shoulder up, when sleeping on my side. I would like to have a mattress which would indent to allow my shoulder not to be pushed upwards in this way. Also something that would follow the shape of my body, soft for comfort but still supportive where needed. Can you suggest the best mattress for me please?

I would consider memory or other types - just want the best for me. Thanks

Hi Geraldine & Mike,

It sounds like your cheap memory foam mattress is causing you problems.

The issue with cheaper memory foam is two fold.

Firstly the depth of the layers are usually 1-2cm which become practically useless after the foam has compressed over time.

All foams will compress to some degree and usually 2cm over time is accepted.

Secondly cheap memory foam degrades very quickly which sometimes means it fails to return to its original position as it loses its elasticity.

Have you considered a hybrid foam or Latex?

Both these types of mattresses would allow you the sink you require but with support taking the pressure of your shoulder.

We have a range of high quality hybrid and latex foam mattresses.

If you want to get in touch please call the office to discuss I'd be happy to help.

Kind Regards Gary
