Somnus Countess mattress comparisons
Hi John and Ryan I appreciate and understand your lack of enough hours in the week, although I would wait a lifetime for your expert advice!
( even if it meant we ended up on the floor!) So here's our story...... My husband and I have practically been doing our homework on mattresses for the last 3 months-and counting....our heads are 'mush' for want of a better word... 2 years ago we purchased a 'Restus' foam topped pocket sprung mattress which was great until ... Maybe a year ago... Apologies, my mind is vague after turning 40!
Looking at responses and reading info on memory foam/heat/back problems ( I'm sure I don't need to elaborate!) we were destined not to make the same mistake!!
We have, however, recently purchased an ottoman sprung slat base, not to solve any problems but more a space issue.... We have tried, sleepeeze ortho, somnus countess and the rest of their range , millbrook, vi-spring ( some of which i didnt rate at all feeling too soft in their medium range )ect, well, I've lost count.. We just don't want to make an expensive mistake-again...(we liked the somnus countess - medium/ regular feel) what annoys me is we certainly know that the mattress we're trying is not a true account of how it would feel on our base, added to the fact that we noticed most 'retailers' use queen/kingsize display models, thus giving a different tension feel..ok, I need to stop waffling and hope you can help!
I'm 5'2 , 9st 10lb and suffer lower back problems, certainly due to the position I sleep combined with the restus mattress . I sleep on my front so ultimately 'sink' in the wrong places!
Hubby is 5'8, 11st, sleeps on his left side (until I'm asleep as he snores!) resembles a radiator turned up to full power and normally wakes with aches/sweats as I do. We just feel we cannot move freely through the night as the memory foam grabs on to us destined to be renamed 'the Venus flytrap'!
Hope you can help Ps.. Really have no intention of spending silly amounts but on the contrary, looking forward to your help and advice...Artisan Naturals with a few tweaks ?
.
Hi Tracey
From everything you have mentioned in your comment, i would guide you towards the Artisan 1500 mattress in our range, and have this made in a medium tension spring for you both.
Bodyweight | Spring tension |
---|---|
Upto 16 Stone / 50-101kg | Medium (1.4mm) |
16 Stone / 101kg Upwards | Firm (1.6mm) |
Available in Bespoke Products (Please Call) | Soft (1.2mm) |
The Artisan 1500 has a more med/firm feel in the top upholstery layers, this will be better for you being a front sleeper, and your husband being slightly heavier, will still sink into the top layers enough when on his side, as to not create any extra pressure point pain.
The Artisan 1500 having 53% natural fibre fillings will be much cooler than any memory foam mattress.
If you require any further assistance please call the office on 0161 437 4419.
Kind Regards Gary
