Tempur cloud alternative for stomach sleepers?
hello, we are looking at your products and cannot decide which mattress is right for us. my wife is 5.2, 8 stone and a side sleeper. i am 5.11, 14 stone and a stomach sleeper. we liked the feel of the Tempur cloud 27 when visiting the shops but not sure what 8 hours on it would be like. any advice would be appreciated as it would be nice to have a decent nights sleep.
regards
Steve
Hi Steve,
Thanks for getting in touch, yes the world of mattresses can be very confusing!
The Cloud is Tempurs softest mattress and given your weights would be suitable on paper. However, memory foams, in particular, can get very hot during the night as they rely on heat to work. We have an article here with the pros and cons of memory foam. Some people love its warm soft feel others think its like sleeping in a volcano!
Our Hybrid 4 is a comparator to the Tempur Cloud 27 but uses hybrid foams which are less heat retentive. It also comes with a separate topper that can be turned and rotated to extend the life of your mattress.
Hybrid 4 | Tempur Cloud 27 | |
---|---|---|
Cover | Micro-quilt John Ryan Cover with tape edged damask sides | 1.5cm extra soft quilted polyester cover |
1 | 7.5cm 60kg Laygel | 2.5cm Extra Soft layer Tempur Foam |
2 | 6cm 40kg Memory Foam | 7cm comfortable layer Tempur Foam |
3 | 5cm 60kg Laygel | 8cm Durable base layer |
4 | 10cm Reflex Support Foam | 8cm Durable base layer |
Total Depth | 28.5cm + 3-5cm for the quilted cover | 27cm |
If you're worried about it being too hot then our Fusion 3 100% natural latex mattress would also be recommended at your weight. It will give a soft sink in the top layer followed by medium support.
The Fusion 3 is completely turnable and also comes with a 100% Natural Latex topper.
If you need more assistance please give us a call when you have viewed the products and information above.
Kind Regards Gary
