Without the details of the mattress, I am unable to say for sure what may be the cause of your sleep disturbance.  I would guess that at that bargain price the mattress contains open coil springs. These are made of a continuous piece of wire that is coiled to create a massive set of joined springs and they tend to be of a thicker gauge making them too firm for most people. As the springs are all one piece of wire this means that when one of you moves in the night the other person gets disturbed by the motion.

Pocket springs greatly reduce motion disturbance as they are individual springs encased in either spun-bonded material or the more breathable calico material.  The best way to eliminate this is with a zip and link mattress.  This is where you have two separate mattresses that are zipped together to make a whole mattress.

We had another comment on Durest the other day.

I’ve not been able to find out much about them apart from they seem to be an ebay seller. I can’t find out anything about the components, details or specifications of their mattresses. We always advise you need this information to make an informed decision. So I’d get in touch directly with them to find out more. We always state that if you can’t find out anything about the mattress you would be wise to exercise caution.
