What is the best mattress for children?
Hi, I am looking to replace two single mattresses for our two boys. One is 13 and other 10 years old. both beds are slatted beds. Something that will last few years and do we need memory foam topper or latex or nothing?
Someone told me that latex is better as you tend to sweat on memory foam. what do you suggest and by the way I totally agree with you regarding the open coil mattresses. I bought two Silentnight mattresses for the boys last year and now I can feel every coil with my hand not even talking about sleeping on it. Many thanks
Hi Vlad,
Thank you for your question.
I confirm that memory foam is notorious for heat retention and I would avoid purchasing one of those toppers or another open coil mattress.
As the mattresses are for children, I would recommend looking at our Origins Comfort 1000 which has a soft comfort layer but not so soft that they would sink into it. As the children are quite young, the spring system used which gives a medium support, should allow them to grow with the mattress therefore it should last them quite a long time.
If however you do require further advice, please do not hesitate to contact our office on 0161 437 4419.
Kind regards Julie
