What is the best mattress to buy - what a challenging title and one that most people ask when looking for a new mattress!  Your weight difference is a problem for off the peg retail mattresses but not when looking at our Artisan ranges which can come in both Split Tensions or Zip & Link models.

 

 

So straight off if you're not fans of memory foam, I've removed all latex and hybrid foam models from the recommendation.

 

Please have a look at our Artisan Bespoke which has a firm feel in the top upholstery layers.  At your weights, this will give a firmer feel in the top layer.  As for the spring tension, I'd recommend a medium at your weight, remembering this will give enough to support you without it feeling like a slab of concrete.

 

The upholstery layers are where you will get the firmer feel from.  As for your partner, I'd recommend a firm spring.  You can select this either in a one piece split tension, kingsize and above or a zip and link mattress. These options are available in the product in our shop.

 

If you're looking for something at a lower budget I'm afraid your options reduce significantly.  Our firmer model in the Origins Range would be the Origins Pocket Latex which can be made in a 1500 spring tension and 2000 spring tension for a fimer support layer, however if you don't like the feel of memory foam I'm assuming its the softer sink you dont like.
