Which bed !!!!
I am looking for a new bed .. the whole thing base and mattress and pillows if you can help me with that too...lol.
I have a bad lower back and hips
I am in the menopause so the mere sight of the sun has me running for the ice bucket...
I sleep on my own in a double bed... Well I say on my own my delightful dog thinks it's his bed which he has to share with me ... Adding to the heat problem... And me getting comfortable!!!!
Something I am trying to address
I have been told I need a firm mattress I would like like draws under as I need the storage
Any advice on this would be very helpful
Thank you in advance

Hi Helen,
Thank you for your question. The advice used to be that anyone with back issues requires a firmer mattress, but this is not the case. The correct level of support for your height and body weight is essential. This will allow your body to find its own level and not force it into an unnatural position. The medium spring tension supports body weights up to 17 stone, depending on your height, and the firm spring tension supports body weights between 17 stone and 23 stone, also depending on your height.
| Bodyweight | Spring tension |
|---|---|
| Upto 16 Stone / 50-101kg | Medium (1.4mm) |
| 16 Stone / 101kg Upwards | Firm (1.6mm) |
| Available in Bespoke Products (Please Call) | Soft (1.2mm) |
Comfort layers that contain natural fibres will provide a cooler sleep surface and help you to regulate your body temperature. These fibres are also more durable, which means the lifespan of the mattress will be much longer. The upholstery layers should be determined by your sleep positions and comfort preferences. We do not recommend soft upholstery layers for front and back sleepers, as this can cause lower back pain. Likewise, we do not recommend firm upholstery layers for side sleepers as this can cause pressure pain in the shoulders, hips and knees. If you are a combination sleeper, we recommend a medium level of comfort in the upholstery layers, which will provide cushioning when sleeping on your side, but the supportive layers underneath mean you will not sink in too much when sleeping on your front or back. Our most popular medium comfort natural fibre mattress is the Artisan Naturals.
We pair our Artisan range of natural fibre mattresses with the Artisan Pocket Sprung base, which cushions the mattress. You can put them on a platform base, like the Contemporary Platform base, however, this type of base will firm up the internal support slightly. The type of base you choose is down to personal preference. Both types of base are available with no drawers, 2 full drawers, 4 full drawers and 2 half/2 full-size drawers.

Unfortunately, we do not sell pillows. The type of pillow you use should also be determined by your sleep position.
I hope this helps and if you would like any further information or would like to discuss your individual needs, please do not hesitate to contact our office on 0161 437 4419.
Kind Regards
Michaela
