Which Single Mattress

Comment Check Icon 1 answers Comment Icon 0 comments

My son is 15years old, 178cm tall, and 63Kg.   I am not sure if he will get any taller he feels he has stopped growing.

I am looking for a single mattress his current mattress is a memory foam stompa mattress that was purchased with the stompa high sleeper.

A while ago we tried a few mattresses he prefers medium firm pocket spring and he sleeps hot on his side but moves around a lot.  He has Adhd and sleep issues.

Please can you advise a mattress.  Thanks

Hi Suneeta,

Thank you for your question. Memory foam is the warmest type of mattress. It requires body heat to be able to mould to you, which doesn't dissipate. This can make many customers overheat. The issue you have is that foam mattresses are not as deep as a traditional pocket sprung mattress. Given that your son sleeps on a high cabin bed, the depth of the mattress is very important to ensure the safety rails remain effective. None of the mattresses within our range would be suitable for this type of base due to the depths, which range between 27 cm and 35 cm.

Origins naturals comfort mattress

If your son no longer sleeps in the Stompa high sleeper, a pocket sprung mattress containing natural fibres will help to regulate his body temperature. As a side sleeper, the medium level of comfort of the Origins Natural Comfort mattress will provide cushioning for his shoulders and hips to sink into, but a more supportive feel underneath so that he will not sink in too much if he sleeps on his front or back.

Bodyweight Spring tension
Upto 16 Stone / 50-101kg Medium (1.4mm)
16 Stone / 101kg Upwards Firm (1.6mm)
Available in Bespoke Products (Please Call) Soft (1.2mm)

At his height and body weight, the medium spring tension will provide him with the correct level of support. This spring tension supports body weights up to approximately 110 kg, which means he will still be supported if he is still growing.

I hope this helps and if you would like any further information, please do not hesitate to contact the office on 0161 437 4419.

Kind Regards

Michaela
