Which type of mattress

We currently have a European size mattress (160 x 200). I weigh 22st but am losing weight. My wife weighs 14st and is also dieting. Our budget is around £1500. Which mattress would you recommend that would work for us now but still be a good option once we have lost weight?

Hi Bruce,

Thanks for your question.

With your current body weights a split tension mattress would be more appropriate, medium for your wife and firm for yourself.

Bodyweight Spring tension
Upto 16 Stone / 50-101kg Medium (1.4mm)
16 Stone / 101kg Upwards Firm (1.6mm)
Available in Bespoke Products (Please Call) Soft (1.2mm)

The size you currently have is a European king size and these are not standard in our product ranges. We can have one made to your specific size, but this will attract a cost premium of 10% on a standard king size. In addition, as this would be deemed a bespoke size, it would not be covered by our 60 day love it or return it guarantee.

If your weights should change by around 3st, the springs tensions referred to above would still apply and if either of you found the mattress too firm then, you could apply a topper.

Please view the Artisan Naturals or Artisan Bespoke 004, both of which can be made in the split tension.

I trust that the above is of help to you, but if you have any further queries, please do not hesitate to call our office on 0161 437 4419.

Kind Regards, John and Ryan.
