Would a Wool Room mattress topper increase longevity of a new mattress
I am perimenopausal and have recently purchased a deluxe mattress topper from Wool Room to reduce the heat capacity of my Emma mattress, it hasn't worked so I think the next step is a new mattress.
Ideally I'd like to buy your kingsize artisan naturals mattress but unfortunately it's beyond my price point, so I'm considering the Origins Pocket 1500, but your guarantee for this mattress is 5 years, compared to 10 years for the artisan. Would using my non-sprung wool topper on top of this increase the life of a new mattress?
I'm a side sleeper, approx 10st, my partner position varies but tries to sleep on his front as he snores a lot, he's approx14st.
Hi Elle,
Thank you for your question. The longevity of a mattress is determined by its internal components. Our Aritsan range of mattresses are constructed with predominantly natural fibres which provide a cooler sleep surface and help to regulate your body temperature. Natural fibres are also more durable than manmade fibres, which is why our Artian mattresses have a longer guarantee than our Origins range, predominantly manmade fibre mattresses.
The Origins Pocket 1500 has a medium spring tension as standard which will provide you both with the correct level of support at your body weights. It has a medium level of comfort in the upholstery layers which is suitable for all sleep positions as it is not too soft for front and back sleepers nor too firm for side sleepers.
Bodyweight | Spring tension |
---|---|
Upto 16 Stone / 50-101kg | Medium (1.4mm) |
16 Stone / 101kg Upwards | Firm (1.6mm) |
Available in Bespoke Products (Please Call) | Soft (1.2mm) |
A mattress topper prolongs the lifespan of a mattress as it takes the impact of you sleeping and moving around on the mattress rather than the upholstery layers and can be replaced more easily than a new mattress. It will slow down the rate your mattress settles. We usually recommend trying a mattress for a few weeks to get a true feel for the mattress's comfort layers. Different thicknesses of toppers will alter how it feels, a thicker mattress topper will feel softer than a thinner one.
I hope this helps and if you would like any further information or would like to discuss your individual needs, please do not hesitate to contact the office on 0161 437 4419.
Kind Regards
