A bed/mattress for someone with a bad back
Hello,
My partner and I wish to buy a new bed. I have scoliosis in the lumbar region of my spine so I get lower back pain. I like your ethos of a mattress being supportive and comfortable. Both my partner and I are over 16 stone (need to lose weight ha ha). We are looking for a King sized mattress. Any advice would be great, there is so much conflicting information on the internet!

Thank you for your question.
Due to the problems that you have with lower back pain, I would suggest that you have a look at either our Hybrid or Latex mattresses.
These mattresses will mold to your body shape giving you pressure relief and support.
The Hybrid 5 is a foam mattress and has a similar feel to a Tempur Sensation.
This mattress has a medium support with the added benefit of a separate topper which is made of a medium density coolblue foam.
The Hybrid foam mattress, although similar to memory foam, is less heat retentive and more responsive and I have added a link which explains how our Hybrid mattresses are constructed.
In our Fusion Range of mattresses, I would recommend that you look at both the Fusion 4 and the Fusion 6.
These mattresses are made of 100% Natural Latex and again will give you the firm support you require but also mould to your body shape to give you the pressure relief you also need.
However, if you would prefer a pocket sprung mattress, we have two ranges of these type of mattresses.
Our Origins Range have man made fillings and our Artisan Range have natural fillings.
In the Origins Range I would suggest you look at the Origins Pocket 1500 which will give you a medium support but with a comfortable comfort layer.
In the Artisan Range, we can adjust the spring tension to suit your body weights although at your stated body weights, I would suggest a medium spring tension as this will give you both the correct support.
The Artisan 1500 has 50/50 natural fibres and man made fibres and has a more medium to firm feel in the comfort layers.
The Artisan Tailored Pocket 2000, Artisan Naturals and Artisan Bespoke 004 all have a medium feel in the upholstery layers. They are therefore not too soft nor too firm.
The Artisan Luxury is the softest mattress that we make and the firmest mattress that we make in the Artisan Range is the Artisan Bespoke but I feel this may be a little too firm for you in the upholstery layers.
As mentioned above, we can make all of these mattresses with a medium spring tension.
