A customer asked

I am looking for a zip and link set 6 x 6'6 . My husband admits to 20st and 6'3 tall so thought this the best option but which mattress?

I am 11st. I think I would prefer pocket springs but am open to your recommendation. I will also need to purchase another zip and link set in a couple of months times to accommodate students/spare beds -- what would you recommend n

Hi Janice,

Thanks for your question.

Zip and Link mattresses are ideal where there is a significant difference in body weights. This is because you can have different spring tensions in each piece.

We would need to know some further information in order to discuss suitable models as we have 12 different pocket sprung mattresses with 12 different feels.

At your body weights you will need a Medium spring tension and your husband will need a Firm spring tension to get the right level of support;

Bodyweight Spring tension
Upto 16 Stone / 50-101kg Medium (1.4mm)
16 Stone / 101kg Upwards Firm (1.6mm)
Available in Bespoke Products (Please Call) Soft (1.2mm)

We would then need to know your sleeping habits (I.e, front, back or side sleeper) as this can have an impact on the mattress choice.

We would need to know if you have a preference for natural fillings over synthetic - You would be looking at natural fillings if there are heat issues during sleep. This would then lead us to the Artisan range as this range is constructed with natural fillings.

Please come back to us at your earliest convenience in order to discuss this further on 0161 437 4419.

Kind Regards, Lee.
