Hi John and Ryan Firstly I would like to say what a wonderful website and service you provide!

There appears to be no other mattress manufacturer who offers anything close to what you do. I have read the many comments and information you have provided which have answered most of my questions. I do however have one more query. I have decided on an Artisan Naturals Superking mattress but I'm not sure if a zip linked model would be better?

With our current mattress I feel every movement my husband makes as he tosses and turns a lot. In addition I am woken up when he gets up to use the toilet 3 or 4 times a night and returns to bed with a thump. Would a zip linked bed be a better option because of his getting in and out of bed?

I am 5ft 7 and 10 st, and my husband is 6ft and 13 st. He suffers from a bad back and needs a firm bed. Our current bed is a Myers Viceroy and dare I admit 20 years old but still very comfortable and looks good as new....just no longer suitable as my husband is so restless these days. I look forward to your advice. .

Hi Jackie.

The decision between a one piece Superking and a Zip and Link comes down to a few factors.

The first is the access issue (usually the main reason).

The Artisan Naturals you have decided upon is quite a beast in the double or king size models.

At Superking level the sheer weight for manoeuvrability is Hernia inducing!

This brings me to the second point.

Regular turning and rotating of your mattress is crucial in the early stages of use.

Natural fillings will compress (not to be mistaken with flatten) and this compression has to occur slowly, naturally and evenly over the entire mattress.

The Ziplink models are incredibly easy to maintain and obviously can be done by one person alone.

The third aspect of your choice is down to price.

Ziplinks do carry a premium based on the extra labour they take to produce.

The overall benefit is that it completely removes any form of disturbance to / from your partner.

The use of a good topper (we are currently raving about Pillow and Duvet Warehouse these days) will minimise the feeling of two mattresses butted up together and will also give maximum protection to the primary layers of your mattress.

John and Ryan.
