Thank you for your enquiry on our website.  Tufting is an essential component of a pocket sprung mattress.  This is what holds all the upholstery layers in place and all of our natural fibre mattresses and most of our synthetic fibre range have to be tufted because there is so much that goes into the comfort layers.  Some people are more sensitive to this than others.

If you are sensitive you could always add a mattress topper, which would make the upholstery layers on the Origins Comfort 1000 (which is ideal for individuals of a lighter body weight) even more sumptuous. We would advise that you try the mattress for a few weeks first to get the true feel of the comfort layers as the additional cost of a topper may not be necessary.

For you to try and find this quality of mattress for this price in any showroom would be a feat in itself and unfortunately, there are no comparable mattresses to try.  This is one of the reasons we have the '60 day love it or return it' guarantee.  If for any reason you are not happy with your purchase, just contact us and we will either give you a full refund or we can do a one time exchange for another mattress.  Please note that if the second mattress was also unsuitable, we would only be able to offer you a full refund minus £85 fee for the second collection.
