A customer asked

Hi John, I contacted you several times earlier in the year about my Great Matttress Problem. I'm 7.5 stone, with arthritic hips, and was finding everything too firm. I am still suffering from a lack of sleep despite now attempting to sleep on a feather/down topper on top of a memory foam topper on top of a Vi Spring medium mattress (!) I see you are recommending that other people of similar weights contact your 'foam guy'. I had been wondering whether foam would be worth a try in my case, after lying in a Dunlopillo foam mattress in a department store. What do you think?

I'd be very grateful for any (more!) advice from you... >

Hi again Hippy.

You know from past experience trying to get a mattress suitable for people like yourself with a very light bodyweight is extremely difficult.

I know we both deduced that a model such as the Vi Spring Shetland and Vi Spring Coronet being mainly a wool based mattress would be the most suitable - especially taking into consideration your back problems etc..

Jensen Beds are a good comparitor, take a trip to Furniture Village to see if they may be suitable for you.

Finally Hippy.

Try your mattress with the feather and down topper underneath the memory foam one to see if this slight change has any effect on the overall comfort.

Kind Regards Gary
