Spending £2000-£2500 on a mattress guidance

A customer asked

We need a zip & link (kingsize) mattress as I'm 8 stone and my husband is 14 stone. We've only looked in John Lewis so far and fallen in love with their "JL Ultimate No 1" but it's £4000 which seems to be a bit excessive. We know it's made by Harrison Spinks but can't see a similar specification on the HS website to compare prices elsewhere. We'd like to spend a reasonable amount on a mattress, say about £2000 - 2500.
Do you know of any mattress that might be suitable for us, please?
(We'll be buying a new bed base).
Thanks
Carrie

Hi Carrie,
You will no doubt be aware that, even though they are prepared to confirm that the JL Ultimate is made by Harrison Spinks exclusively for John Lewis, the published information regarding the construction and upholstery used is very limited particularly in terms of GSM (grams per square metre) of that upholstery.

Our Artisan range is, in some cases, comparable in feel to some of the Vi-Spring range, which may also be stocked by John Lewis. In the Artisan range, it is possible to have a zip and link set of mattresses with different spring tensions to suit your different body weights.

Please view this range on our site and call our office to obtain more specific advice as to the suitability of one of these products for you. Kind regards.
