I sleep on a vi sprung sublime supreme super King zip n link approx 5 years old. My side is a medium tension and my girlfriend side is soft
Due to my 16st weight I guess I have flattered the fillings some time ago. We need a topper desperately but do not know what to get. Both want more softness and I guess mine is plenty firm enough to support still. We want that 5* hotel feel. Vi Spring own toppers are stupidly expensive and due to fact you can't go try a variety of toppers out before you buy we are stumped. Can you please help and advise on maybe where we can get a topper or what kind to get. I think maybe a memory foam base with a decent feather pillow top. What do you think

Thanks for your question.
Whilst I appreciate you wanting to soften up your current mattress with the application of a topper, I would not under any circumstances recommend one with any degree of memory foam as a constituent part. This is because memory foam is very heat retentive and is slow to return to shape.
You would absolutely be better looking at a company online called Soak and Sleep. They have a much wider range of products than we do and should be able to recommend a product for you.
Generally you should be pairing the fillings in the mattress with the same fillings in the topper so foam with foam, latex with latex, natural fillings with wool or microfibres. Please see our article here for further information on mattress toppers.
