Thanks for getting back in touch. The guarantee on all our bases is 12 months, but like all our products, there is the 60 day love it or return it guarantee. We don't offer chrome casters, just the matt bronze ones as seen on the site which are heavy duty shepherd casters.  We do have chrome glides, which are better for wooden flooring.

As for lifting the Ottoman base, the gas struts will take the weight once the mattress has been lifted but you still need to be able to make that initial lift to get to the struts to activate and access the storage. How difficult it is will be subjective based on age fitness etc which makes it impossible to say yes or no. However, you could always visit a mattress store and have a go on their ottomans? Failing that you could go for a traditional divan base with 4 drawers if you are concerned about whether or not you can lift the Ottoman.  We have three other bases available, the Origins Platform base, the Contemporary Platform divan and the Artisan base which is a pocket sprung base which will soften down the feel of your mattress.
