Anthony

Hello
I'm 5 ft 4 (163cm) tall and about 50-55kg ( 8-9 st)
I tend to sleep on my side first then end up on my back during my sleep and it appears that a supportive (firmer) mattress with a softer top quite confortable.
However, what do you normally recommend for people like me?
A firmer (2000 spring) or the general medium (1500) version?
For what its worth, in the shop the mattress I found okay on either back or side tend to be a bit firm with a cushy top to take some pressure off.
I look forward to hearing your suggestions
Thank

Hi Anthony,

Thanks for your question.

Spring tension is determined by body weight alone as this needs to be correct in order to give you the right level of support.

At your body weight you are actually borderline between a Soft and Medium spring tension; For a bit more give choose the Soft, for a bit more support choose the Medium. Given what you disclose about your preference I'd advise the Medium. Please note that you will do nothing to compress a Firm spring.

Bodyweight Spring tension
Upto 16 Stone / 50-101kg Medium (1.4mm)
16 Stone / 101kg Upwards Firm (1.6mm)
Available in Bespoke Products (Please Call) Soft (1.2mm)

From there I'd advise you have a look at our Origins Comfort 1000 and our Artisan Luxury. Both are soft mattresses in their respective ranges with the Luxury being the softest mattress we retail overall.

The Artisan range also has the benefit of being constructed with natural fillings with these being ideal for hot sleepers as natural fillings provide a cool sleep surface.

You could also have a look at our Artisan Bespoke 003; This is a newly launched product. It is constructed with a dual layer of springs but also has a supportive feel due to the high GSM and padding. Please note though that this won't be as soft in the top layers as the Artisan Luxury.

I hope this has answered your questions fully but if you do have any further queries please don't hesitate to contact our office on 0161 437 4419.

Kind Regards, Lee.
