The firmness of the mattress you desire is determined by a few factors. Your weight and height, and the mattress of your choice. The upholstery layers are the very top comfort layers and give different degrees of firmness alongside the spring unit which should be chosen based on your weight.
The Artisan Bespoke 003 combines dual layers of calico springs with 100% Natural breathable fibres, to regulate body temperature and create a comforting cool sleep surface. Featuring a huge 5600GSM of upholstery fillings.
This mattress has a firmer feel with a slow sink in the upper Comfort Layers. The 2508 twin Pocket Spring unit gives lively medium support. Making it excellent for sleepers that tend to move around a lot or are a front/back sleeper where you need more support.
The combined upholstery weight by GSM [Grams per Square Metre] in a mattress is a good indicator of who is giving you more filling for your money. The Artisan Bespoke 003 has three rows of genuine Hand Side Stitching and the Pocket Springs are Hand-Nested. 8 padded turning handles on the Kingsize with our insignia embroidered on them.
The mattress has been traditionally hand tufted with woollen tufts. This mattress is covered in our white woven 100% Viscose with subtle John Ryan design. Our woven mattress cover is completely Chemical Free

Artisan Bespoke 003 bed
5 years ago we purchased a king size Artisan Bespoke 002 bed and have been absolutely delighted with the luxury and comfort it has given to us. Its only problem (for us) is the weight of the mattress makes turning it rather difficult.
To make life easier we ordered and have received a super king zip and link Artisan Bespoke 003 bed.
This bed is truly excellent and although we have only had it for 4 weeks it is settling in very well and feels more comfortable every new night. I have (unaided) turned the mattress.
This bed and its materials actually appear superior to our last bed.
Although not an inexpensive purchase these are wonderful beds which I am happy to recommend to anyone

I was looking for a new bed online and by chance stumbled upon the John Ryan website. I was blown away by the staggering amount of information about beds!
Having deciding that I wanted a John Ryan bed and after two telephone conversations with very helpful and knowledgeable members of staff, they pulled out all the stops to ensure that we had a pre-christmas delivery.
The bed looks very classy and my wife and I have just had two of the best nights sleep we have had in a long while.
Obviously it is to early to comment on how long the bed will last but so far, we are delighted with the bed and the service provided by John Ryan By Design.

Ordering process was very thorough with customer service checking that we had ordered the correct level of tension. Delivery was faster than I was expecting and the delivery team were very helpful. Only arrived yesterday so we’ve only slept on it once, but so far very comfortable and we are pleased with our choice.
