David

Hi,
I'm just under 6 feet and my weight is generally around 13 st. I sleep on my side and have the sheets/duvet dragged up around my neck and shoulders.
I'm 30 days into a 100 day trial with a casper mattress which, while the surface is very comfortable, is proving too hot for me. I can't even have a single sheet around my shoulders for long before it becomes unbearable.
So I'm looking for a medium (maybe a little to firm) mattress, under £1000.00, that won't cook me during the night, that I can sleep on as described above, and which I will definitely receive in time to send the casper mattress back.
The Artisan 1500 is the one that I keep coming back to. Would you agree, given the above criteria? Think I'm just after some assurances if possible.
Many thanks,
David.

Hi David,

Thank you for your enquiry.

With your particular body weight we would recommend a medium spring tension/feel mattress with medium upholstery layers to accommodate your preference for side sleeping. It would appear that you are edging towards the Artisan 1500 purely on a price basis rather than the upholstery contained therein and whilst it does have a degree of natural upholstery, it is not the ideal level of upholstery for a side sleeper, which needs to be quite forgiving.

Bodyweight Spring tension
Upto 16 Stone / 50-101kg Medium (1.4mm)
16 Stone / 101kg Upwards Firm (1.6mm)
Available in Bespoke Products (Please Call) Soft (1.2mm)

There are two products in our pocket sprung ranges, which we normally recommend for side sleepers and they are the Origins Pocket 1500 and the Artisan Naturals.  The Origins has a standard medium spring unit with medium man made upholstery layers, whereas the Artisan Naturals has a medium feel from the top layers made up of 85% natural fillings and can have the spring tension selected to suit in soft, medium or firm.

We do not recommend memory foam mattresses, which is what the Casper mattress is,  because of their heat retention and because they are slow to return to shape meaning that when you want to move during the night, it can feel like you have to climb out of a hole.

When you have had an opportunity to view these products please call our office on 0161 437 4419 for specific advice as to suitability.

Kind regards Julie
