A customer asked

Hi! We are looking for a new mattress.I am 6', my wife is 5'5". We both weigh about 100kg.We would prefer natural fibre but not latex unless well encapsulated. In the past, we loved the silent night mirapocket 2100 Shelly but this died very quickly and we'd like something of better quality. We like the vi-spring Plymouth superb or Exeter superb or the John Lewis natural collection Harwick wool 8000...Sorry, these are very different mattresses! ?

Hi Thewezard,

Thanks for your question.

At your body weights you are both the top end of a Medium spring tension. If you prefer something a bit more supportive then you can absolutely choose the Firm spring tension.

Bodyweight Spring tension
Upto 16 Stone / 50-101kg Medium (1.4mm)
16 Stone / 101kg Upwards Firm (1.6mm)
Available in Bespoke Products (Please Call) Soft (1.2mm)

We can't draw any comparisons with John Lewis or Silent Night unfortunately as they are retailers that don't disclose fully how they construct. This makes offering any advice nigh on impossible.

Vi-Spring however, do disclose how they construct, like we ourselves do.

The Vi-Spring Plymouth is very much in line with our own Artisan Luxury. This mattress has the softest top layers of any mattress that we retail meaning that it gives a luxurious sink in sensation.

I hope this helps but if you have any further queries please don't hesitate to contact our office on 0161 437 4419.

Kind Regards, Lee.
