A customer asked

i have a double bed, 3 yrs old and its has curved slats. the slats have become sdislodged and the springs in the mattress are poking through the gaps in the slats- i will never buy a budget bed again!!!
i am only 5 ft 2 so i need a lowish divan bed, some i have seen are ridiculously high. i like the idea of the pillowtop mattress and i am want a medium firm king size mattress as my partner will be moving in soon. he is 5ft 11. we both weigh 15st so i would like some help with a choice of mattress. i have been told pocket sprung is best. can you offer any help at all
thanks

Hi Jane,

Thanks for your question.

We do not recommend pillow top mattresses for the reasons detailed on our site. Once the fabric compresses, which regularly does so very quickly, there is nothing you can do to salvage the mattress as that pillowtop layer is in-built.

Your body weights dictate that you are both within a Medium spring tension.

Bodyweight Spring tension
Upto 16 Stone / 50-101kg Medium (1.4mm)
16 Stone / 101kg Upwards Firm (1.6mm)
Available in Bespoke Products (Please Call) Soft (1.2mm)

Given that you disclose your preference for a Medium Firm feel I'd advise you have a look at our Origins Pocket Reflex 1000 or Artisan 1500.

Both are traditional pocket sprung mattresses but the Artisan range has the benefit of being constructed using natural fillings. These natural fillings tend to last longer as standard but also have the benefit of providing a cool sleep surface.

I hope this has answered your questions fully but if you do have any further queries please don't hesitate to contact our office on 0161 437 4419.

Kind Regards, Lee.
