HELP!
I am a large lady of 23 stone, now obviously i suffer with severe back and hip pain. With my current mattress it has kept the support (good edges that have kept shape, no roll with only slight indentations after 2 years of use) but i do find that it is too firm for me. I wake up in the morning with bad pain that can render me stiff and immobile for the rest of the day. I also get very hot during the night. I believe this mattress is a Silentnight Miracoil 7 Hepworth Memory kingsize mattress.
There are many conflicting sites out there that say memory is the best way to go for the larger people but i just dont know. Its a minefield out there and close to giving up trying to find the right one. Do i go for a medium feel or a firm feel knowing that the one i got right now is very uncomfortable. memory foam, latex or pocketsprung arrrgggg.
Please help

Hi Carole,

From what you have said it is likely the reason for your overheating is the fact that memory foam is very heat retentive and uses your body heat to perform correctly, but then reflects that heat back to you.

The likely cause of you back and hip pain is the fact that the mattress you have is too firm for you.

What you require is the correct support together with comfort, but for your body weight it is difficult to find the correct product because you fall within the range which would dictate a firm spring.

Having said that, we do make a mattress, which is specifically designed for people in your weight range to provide a medium feel overall.

Please view the details of the Resilience 1, which will provide the required support and comes with a separate 7.5cm gel infused topper for that extra level of comfort.

If you requires any further guidance or advice once you have viewed this product, please do not hesitate to call our office.

Kind Regards Gary
