There are a number of factors that we take into account when advising on a new mattress, but the primary ones are body weights, preferred feel and budget. The spring tension required is governed by your body weight(s) as there needs to be sufficient support provided by the springs. The preferred feel enables us to advise upon which model has the appropriate upholstery to suit, as does the way in which you sleep i.e. side sleeper etc.

Your assertion that a medium and firm split would be appropriate is correct, although unless access is an issue, there is no need to opt for a zip and link as such split tension mattresses are available in our Artisan range in a one piece in king size and above.  Foam, including memory foam or latex mattresses cannot be made with such a division in the tension so you will need to look at pocket sprung mattresses, which again points to the Artisan range.

Please view the details of the Artisan Naturals and the  Artisan Bespoke 004 , all of which have natural upholstery and can be made with the split tension required. Both the Naturals and Bespoke 004 will provide a similar feel with the Naturals having 85% natural upholstery and the 004 having 100%. The Artisan Naturals is our best selling product in that range as detailed at the foot of this response.
