Artisan Naturals compared to Harrison Onyx 7700

Hi, I am interested in the Artisan Naturals mattress, superking size. We tried out a Harrison Onyx 7700, mainly because I knew they do it in a split tension but that's not such an issue now as I think we may need zip & link to get it up the stairs. We were happy enough with the Harrison although I thought it felt a little unyielding. I am 5' 5" and 10.5 stones and my partner is 6" and 15 stone. I suited the Harrison in a medium tension whereas my partner needed the firm to support his weight properly. Given this and the advice on your website, would you still recommend that a medium tension Artisan Naturals mattress would support us both? Are you also able to comment on how the Artisan Naturals would feel in comparison to the Harrison Onyx?

The first thing to say is that, as you will be aware, the published details of the construction and upholstery in terms of GSM (grams per square metre) are limited in respect of the Harrison product. In addition, they use 5200 springs in a standard king size, whereas, 1000 springs are sufficient in a standard king size mattress to provide support for people of average body weights (10-16st). Furthermore, they use layers of mini spring to achieve such a high spring count and those layers ultimately will take the place of upholstery and in our opinion do not bring anything to the table in terms of comfort. For these reasons it is impossible to provide an opinion as to performance, suitability or provide a comparison.
The Artisan Naturals has layers of upholstery which are fully detailed in the description of the product and cannot be compared to the Harrison Onyx 7700 in terms of the upholstery or construction. The Naturals can have the spring tension selected to suit the particular body weight of the persons using it and in your particular case, a medium spring tension will provide adequate support for you both.
