Hi I suffer with sciatica and my soft mattress is making it worse,I'm looking to buy a pocket sprung mattress I'm 15 stone , how many pockets would you recommend. Also I've been looking at the Relyon Toulouse pocket spring mattress 1500 on the bed station site would you recommend this. Thank you.

Hi there,

Thank you for your enquiry.

Aside from confirming that the Relyon product has 1500 springs (standard in a king size), there is very little information regarding the construction and upholstery available, which makes providing an opinion as to quality and performance impossible. It also makes providing a comparison impossible. What we would say is that in a standard king size mattress 1000 springs are usually sufficient to provide adequate support for people of average body weights (10 - 17st). Spring counts are usually advertised using a king size as a guide and the number of spring will increase or decrease dependent upon the size of mattress required.

With you particular body weight, we would suggest that you opt for a medium spring tension/feel mattress. Please view the Origins Pocket 1500, which has a standard medium tension spring unit together with man made upholstery providing an overall medium feel. If you prefer natural upholstery, please view thew Artisan Naturals or Bespoke 004, both of which can have the spring tension selected to suit and both have natural upholstery, 85% in the Naturals and 100% in the 004. Both will provide the same overall feel when selected with a medium spring tension.

We trust that the above is of help to you, but if you require any further advice or guidance, please call our office on 0161 437 4419 and speak with one of our advisors.

Kind regards.
