Best mattress for 17st side sleeper?

HiAfter having had same mattress for 17 years (yes, that's 17!) last year I bought a new one, but I stupidly bought cheaply and the mattress is now giving me back ache. I did try to replace it with one of these new hybrid memory foam/pocket sprung mattresses (OTTY), but whilst loving the concept after sleeping on my side and waking up with a dead arm it is not the mattress for me, so it is being returned as i write.Anyway, I now need to dip my toe back into the mattress market again, this time shopping with a more reasonable budget. However, looking around at them all it looks to be a minefield of expensive mistakes waiting to happen. so I need some help. I'm 17 stone, am alone and prefer to sleep on my side, so what would you recommend? I was thinking that your Artisan 1500 with the firm spring tension would be the one, even if the cost is higher than i would like? If it lasts another 17 years it'll be worth the money though :)Appreciate your thoughts

Hi Keith

Thanks for your question.

The Artisan 1500 mattress would be a great choice for you in a firm tension spring, giving you the correct support for your body weight, i.e moving when you move, to give you that overall body support.

John Ryan By Design Artisan 1500
1 500gsm Wool
2 600gsm Rebound Poly Cotton (50/50)
3 700gsm Polyester
4 600gsm: Rebound Poly Cotton (50/50)
5 700gsm Polyester
6 1200 gsm Cashmere Hair Pad as Insulator
7 1500 Spun Bond Pocket Springs (Soft/Med or Firm)
Total GSM 4300gsm

this also has a medium feel in the top upholstery layers, not too soft or too firm, giving you enough sink when sleeping on your side to not create pressure point pain.

If you require any further assistance please call the office on 0161 437 4419.

Regards Gary
