Which John Ryan mattress to choose....

Hi, we desperately need a new mattress having had a poor quality one for about 5 years that now has very deep valleys in it no matter how much we've turned it. My partner has a very physically demanding job so has pain in his lower back, shoulders and torn cartilage in his knee. He wakes most mornings very stiff and unable to move freely.
He is about 11 stone and I am about 10.5 stone. I dream of being able to sink slowly into a comfy bed and not be bounced out if bed when my partner turns over!
We don't have an enormous budget unfortunately.
Your advice is greatly appreciated.

Hi Millie,

Thank you for your question.

As you mention existing pains, we would always advise to not opt for a mattress that is too firm in top's upholstery layers, also known as it's comfort layers. This will only serve to make those pains worse.

At the body weights provided you are both matched to a Medium spring tension; This is what provides you with the correct level of support from within the mattress itself.

Both of our Pocket Sprung ranges will provide you with a great level of support.

Our Origins Comfort 1000 is the softest mattress that we offer in it's range and you do very much have that soft sink in feeling in the top layer.

John Ryan By Design Origins Comfort
1 750gsm Very Soft Polyester
2 500gsm Polyester Pad
3 One Inch Foam Insulator Layer
4 1000 Spun Bond Pocket Springs

Alternatively, you could look at our Artisan 1500 mattress. This is very medium feeling in it's top layers; I.e, not too soft or too firm but due to the inclusion of construction from natural fibres and materials it does feel slightly softer and is also cooler to the touch.

The Artisan range are fantastic for anyone who identifies as a 'hot' sleeper.

I hope this has answered your questions fully but if you do have any further queries then please don't hesitate to contact us on 0161 437 4419.

Kind Regards,
Amy.
