Recommendation on your mattresses

Hi,I have been looking at what i perceive as better quality mattress and wondered if you can help. The amount of info on your site is amazing but also slightly overwhelming. We have purchased a feather & black loire bed which has sprung slats i believe (i now know thats not the best option, but its too late now). We are considering mattress options now and its very easy to consider the most advertised and available such as sealey etc but im now looking at the handmade supposedly better mattresses - have also looked on F&B and understand they do not state all specs etc which could be compared to yours.Im wondering if you can recommend your mattress for me and my partner, im 6ft 1 and she is 5ft. I weigh 73kg and she weighs 49kg. We currently have a memory foam topped mattress (part of the mattress not a pillowtop or topper) but its time for a change and i now realise why i have always been so hot after learning memory foam has this effect. therefore im after the coolest option - which i believe is the natural fibers, followed by latex?we have a budget of around 700-900 really and i believe would probably want a medium? we both sleep on side and back. I move around fair bit so something that would help not wake my partner up if possible would help also.any recommendations would be very gratefully received.

Good Morning Jason,

Thank you for your questions.

You are absolutely correct that natural fibres or latex are the ranges to look at if you identify as a 'hot' sleeper.

In our Artisan range the Artisan Naturals model is the true medium feeling model and is also our best seller. That top layer provides a slight sink but nowhere near as much as the Artisan Luxury, which is our softest mattress in that top layer. This range is fine to go on to a slatted bed base as long as the gaps are no bigger than 3". If they are then we simply advise placing some sheets of MDF or Ply wood over them in order to solidify that base.

Bodyweight Spring tension
Upto 16 Stone / 50-101kg Medium (1.4mm)
16 Stone / 101kg Upwards Firm (1.6mm)
Available in Bespoke Products (Please Call) Soft (1.2mm)

For a pocket sprung mattress we would say that you are matched with a Medium spring and your partner to a Soft spring. The spring tension is solely determined by body weight and needs to be correct as it's what provides you with support.

I hope this has answered your questions fully but if you do have any further queries please don't hesitate to contact me on 0161 413 2864.

Kind Regards, Lee.
