Mattress to replace Hilary devey diamond luxe mattress
We bought a Hilary Devey diamond luxe super king mattress about 8 months ago. Unfortunately it's just too hard. I tend to wake up frequently and have to move because I'm sore and uncomfortable.
The mattress is on a padded-top divan base. I'm a side-sleeper, weigh 10.5 stone and am 5'6" tall. I'm female and have quite tender joints and sometimes low-back pain. I'm also a hot-body in bed. And I need my sleep!
Having spent a large amount on the mattress it's really disappointing, but we've got to the stage of accepting we need a good night's sleep. Would a topper suffice? Which of your mattresses and/or toppers would you recommend?
Any advice gratefully accepted.
Hi Lesley,
Thanks for your question.
At your body weight you are matched with a Medium spring tension to get the right level of support;
Bodyweight | Spring tension |
---|---|
Upto 16 Stone / 50-101kg | Medium (1.4mm) |
16 Stone / 101kg Upwards | Firm (1.6mm) |
Available in Bespoke Products (Please Call) | Soft (1.2mm) |
Given that you disclose you're a hot sleeper this would guide you to our Artisan range of mattresses. These are traditional pocket sprung mattresses constructed with natural fillings and these fillings provide a cool sleep surface.
The limited information I can find on the Hillary Devey Diamond mattress suggests it's a medium firm feel. As such, given the aches and pains I'd advise you go for something more medium or softer in that top layer.
Have a look at our Artisan Naturals and our Artisan Luxury. The Naturals is the true medium feeling model giving that slight sink but not too much. The Luxury is the softest mattress we have overall giving that luxurious sink in sensation in the top layer.
Alternatively, a mattress topper might solve the issue. You might be better looking at an online retailer called Soak and Sleep. They have a much wider range of toppers than we offer and they will also give expert advice if you call them.
I hope this has answered your questions fully but if you do have any further queries please don't hesitate to contact our office on 0161 437 4419.
Kind Regards, Lee.
