Could you evaluate Warren Evans Organic 6000 Natural Pocket Hybrid mattress?

Thank you for your question regarding the Warran Evans Organic 6000 Hybrid Natural mattress. It's a natural fibre mattress which displays the exact GSM which is great news. This has a firmer feel mattress due to the 4000 micro HD springs that feature near the top of the mattress. We do not use this type of springs as they fill a mattress with metal and take up space where more luxurious upholstery layers could be. Wool is usually a very soft feel fibre, however, all the springs contained within this mattress will firm up the feel considerably. Let's take a closer look.

It has a chemical free cover which is now becoming quite common and is nice to see. We use a Plant Based FR (Fire Retardant) application to our Viscose cover.

The spring tension isn't quite clear for this mattress which is described as 'designed for real comfort without compromising firm support'. A firm spring tension is not suitable for anyone under 17 stone as they do not weigh enough to activate this spring tension. It is unlikely that the spring unit is a calico encased vanadium coated spring. If it were they would be shouting this from the rooftops! Calico pocket springs are the best spring units you can buy and are completely breathable and offer far greater progressive spring movement and isolation.  Handles and vents are pretty standard on this type of traditional mattress construction.

It's great that it's two-sided meaning you can turn this mattress over so that the underside becomes the sleep surface to even out settlement. This mattress will last far longer than a one sided model. The fact its got natural fibres inside means it will be cooler and more robust than a synthetic mattress. Wool is a soft fibre and can compress quite quickly, by sandwiching it with the micro HD springs, or horsehair and horsetail as we do, supports the softer layers which helps them retain loft.
