Majestic 5000
Which of your mattresses compares most closely to the Majestic 5000 from Sofas & Stuff?
Hi Graham,
Thank you for your question. I have had a look at the Majestic 5000 mattress at Sofas & Stuff online. This mattress has layers of Alpaca, Bamboo, Organic Wool, Lambswool and teased Horsetail along with micro HD springs.
This is a two sided mattress which usually retails at £2460 but is currently on sale (Jan 2025). There is no information given for this mattress such as GSMs which would make it difficult to make a comparison on comfort levels.
Bodyweight | Spring tension |
---|---|
Upto 16 Stone / 50-101kg | Medium (1.4mm) |
16 Stone / 101kg Upwards | Firm (1.6mm) |
Available in Bespoke Products (Please Call) | Soft (1.2mm) |
There is no definitive spring count combination however, as a guess, I would say it has 1000 spun bonded pocket springs and 2 x 2000 layers of micro HD springs. We do not use micro HD springs as they offer nothing in support but do take up space where more luxurious upholstery layers could be. It is available with 4 spring tensions, soft, medium, firm and extra firm. Please note that you need to be at least 20 stone to activate an extra firm spring. The correct spring tension is dictated by your height and body weight.
Our closest mattress in terms of how we think this mattress would feel by looking at the upholstery layers is the Artisan Bespoke 004. This mattress has a medium level of comfort in the 3600g per square meter upholstery layers. A medium comfort is ideal for all sleep positions as it is not too firm for side sleepers nor too soft for front and back sleepers. We have put 1600 handmade calico pocket springs in this mattress available in both medium and firm tensions.
I hope this helps and if you would like any further information or would like to discuss your individual needs please do not hesitate to contact the office on 0161 437 4419.
Kind Regards
Michaela
