Best topper for zip and link bed
We have an Artisans Natural zip and link super king mattress. Purchased from yourselves in 2016. We are considering a topper to even out some of the dip where the two mattresses meet. What would you recommend?
Regards
Hi Ed,
Thank you for your question. There are many different types of mattress toppers, whether you are looking to soften your mattress, have a more supportive feel or even out the sleep surface of an older mattress to prolong its life. They are ideal for those customers who are sensitive to the join in a zip and link mattress.
Latex mattress toppers:
A latex mattress topper is ideal for foam-type mattresses such as latex and memory foam. It is more breathable and durable than memory foam making it a cooling barrier on a memory foam mattress. Latex is available in different densities which means you can either soften your mattress with a lower density than the mattress or firm it up with a firmer density than your mattress.
Microfibre mattress toppers:
A microfibre mattress topper, also known as hollow fibre or polyester, can add a soft warm cushioning layer when you find your mattress feels a little too firm. These are ideal for those who have allergies to wool or down.
Natural fibre mattress toppers:
There are many different natural fibre toppers on the market from wool or cotton which will give you a soft cushioning layer to duck feather and goose down which provide a more medium comfort. Natural fibres provide a cooler sleep surface and help you to regulate your body temperature. These toppers can be shaken out regularly to fluff them up.
We always recommend a mattress topper that will compliment the fibres of your mattress. As your Artisan Naturals mattress is constructed with 85% natural fibres, a wool or cotton mattress topper would be better if you are looking to soften the overall feel. The thickness of the mattress topper should also be considered, the thicker the topper the more cushioning it will provide whilst a thinner topper would provide a little cushioning and even out the surface.
I hope this helps and if you would like any further information please do not hesitate to contact the office on 0161 437 4419.
Kind Regards
Michaela
