I have an adjustable beda Sealy ultra antuco mattress not happy
I have a Sealy mattress nothing wrong with it until I try to lift the head part as I have spinal stenosis and then it becomes lumpy. I cannot change the mattress as it’s been changed twice before at cost of 2300 Pounds. They inspected the mattress and said there was nothing wrong with it. I said there’s nothing wrong with it if you were sleeping flat but I don’t sleep flat
I have tried a tempur wonderful but too hot as I live in a flat and a Sleepeeze which has a blanket top. The buttons are made of cord and that bruise my cheek buttocks and spine I have photos where I had an operation nine years ago. I’m desperate I don’t know what mattress I can have can you help? I cannot change the mattress again. The company has asked me to have an independent technician which I have to pay £85 for when I know there is nothing wrong with the mattress for sleeping flat on but that is not what I wanted the mattress for I have to lift it up by 6 inches. So my neck is raised the mattress is then lumpy I am desperate crying. I have no family and I’m eight years of age next week.
Hi Diane,
Thank you for your question. Not all mattresses can be used on an adjustable base. Bending a traditional pocket-sprung mattress, like our mattresses, damages the pocket spring unit.
I have looked at the details of your Sealy Elevate Ultra Antuco mattress today. This mattress has layers of foam and memory foam on top of an open coil spring unit. Looking at review sites to see if other customers were experiencing similar issues to yourself, one of the questions asked was, 'Is this mattress suitable for adjustable beds? '. The answer - Yes, this mattress is Sleepmotion compatible. It includes Sealy's patented FlexKey edge support, ensuring the mattress works well with adjustable bed frames.' This means that there should not be any issues with using your mattress on this type of base. When the foam bends, it will feel different from when it is flat as the foam starts to fold. Unfortunately, many people are sensitive to how this fold feels.

If you are finding the mattress comfortable and supportive overall, but are sensitive to how the mattress feels when the top end is raised, it may be beneficial to purchase a mattress wedge. I would recommend getting one that sits on top of the mattress, which would elevate you but leave the mattress flat. These are available in different thicknesses which can raise you to different angles.
I hope this helps, and if you would like any further information, please do not hesitate to contact the office on 0161 437 4419.
Kind Regards
Michaela
