Mattress with the correct level of support and comfort

Comment Check Icon 1 answers Comment Icon 0 comments

Hello,

I’m looking for advice on choosing the right mattress for both me and my partner. I weigh 75 kg and sleep on the right-hand side, while my partner weighs 45 kg and sleeps on the left. We’re both side sleepers, and occasionally overlap in the middle of the bed.

We’re looking for a mattress that can support our different weights evenly, provide good comfort at the shoulders, and offer consistent pressure relief. My partner tends to sleep quite hot, whereas I sleep fairly cool and often use a duvet to stay warm.

Breathability and temperature regulation are very important, as well as ensuring we both get a comfortable, supportive night’s sleep. Could you please recommend which mattress from your range would be the most suitable for us?

Hello Horland,

Thank you for reaching out to us about finding a new mattress that offers the perfect balance of support and comfort for both of you.

When choosing a new mattress, it is essential to ensure that both of you receive the correct level of support, which is primarily provided by the internal spring unit. This support is specifically tailored to your individual body weight and height. The internal spring unit is designed to provide a stable foundation that aligns your spine which is crucial for a good night's sleep.

Bodyweight Spring tension
Upto 16 Stone / 50-101kg Medium (1.4mm)
16 Stone / 101kg Upwards Firm (1.6mm)
Available in Bespoke Products (Please Call) Soft (1.2mm)

In addition to support, it is equally important to consider the level of comfort, which is delivered by the upholstery fillings and fibres that sit atop the spring unit. These materials can vary widely, from memory foam to latex to various types of fibre blends, each offering a different feel and level of cushioning. The ideal comfort level is often dictated by your preferred sleeping positions—side sleepers generally benefit from a softer surface that cushions the shoulders and hips, while back sleepers benefit from a more medium level of comfort and stomach sleepers typically require a firmer mattress to maintain proper spinal alignment. By taking into account both support and comfort, you can find a mattress that meets the unique needs of both of you, ensuring a restful and rejuvenating sleep experience.

Considering your body weights, we suggest opting for a medium level of support, which applies to any of our mattress options. As side sleepers, it's essential for you to have consistent pressure relief; therefore, we recommend a mattress that offers a soft to medium level of comfort. This will provide the necessary cushioning for your shoulders and hips, ensuring a restful night’s sleep.

To ensure you have a mattress that offers breathability and regulates temperature, we recommend opting for a natural fibre mattress. Natural fibres are known for creating a cool sleeping environment and effectively managing temperature. With this in mind, we suggest considering the Artisan Luxury mattress, which is made entirely from natural fibres and provides a soft to medium level of comfort.   This mattress comes with a ten year guarantee plus the 60 day return guarantee which is provided to each customer.   This enables you to try the mattress for this period and if you are not getting along with it, you can return for a refund or we can then have a chat about swapping to a difference matter depending on what the issue is.
