18 stone vs 9 stone

I'm 6ft2in 18 stone, my partner 5ft7in 9 stone. I'm looking for a super-king zip-and-link divan with drawers and don't really want to go beyond £2500. Reading previous answers I expect that the recommendation would be for the Artisan Tailored, however I wonder if the Artisan 1500 with the cool-blue topper would be an option? Can you offer any other alternatives? Our existing mattress is 1400 pocket sprung on a solid base, and has an in-built memory foam topper. I've never been happy with the topper as I find it way too hot and I've never believed it gives me a truly comfortable sleep.

Hi Ian

Thanks for your question.

The Artisan Tailored Pocket 2000 mattress would be a great choice for you both, having 85% natural fillings and a 7 year warranty. A firm tension spring for yourself and your wife has the choice to have a soft or medium spring.

Bodyweight Spring tension
Upto 16 Stone / 50-101kg Medium (1.4mm)
16 Stone / 101kg Upwards Firm (1.6mm)
Available in Bespoke Products (Please Call) Soft (1.2mm)

This in the Super kingsize zip link bed set with 4 side drawers and a headboard would retail at £2385.

I would say wait until you have slept on the mattress, before you decide on whether you need a mattress topper or not, a mattress protector is essential, but toppers come in all fillings and depths, so it is better to get a true feel for the mattress first, and then decide on the right topper, to create the level of comfort you are looking for.

If you require any further assistance please call the office on 0161 437 4419.

Regards Gary
