Please can you recommend a mattress from your range. We have a slatted super King size bed. We currently have a pocket sprung Harrison ruby mattress which has unfortunately sagged over the years and is now giving myself and husband back pain. My husband does generally suffer from bad backs. I am 13 stone and 5ft 5, my husband is 18stone and 6ft 3. We have tested some beds in benson beds and we prefer their medium 4 rated firmness. We both liked the feel of memory foam for its supportiveness but have concerns with how hot it would be. For comfort and supportiveness we also liked the sealy Adelaide gel tex mattress however this was very expensive and I had concerns over how well it would wear with not being able to turn it. We would welcome your help and advice. Thank you

I fully understand your concerns regarding the heat in memory foam because it is, unfortunately, very heat retentive. With your body weights, I would recommend a split spring tension.

I would suggest that you look at our Artisan range and in particular the Artisan Naturals and the Artisan Bespoke 004. Both of these mattresses have a very similar medium feel. If you are placing any of these products on your slatted base, I would recommend that you place a barrier between the mattress and the slats in the form of this (3-5mm) MDF to provide the mattress with a uniform surface upon which to sit and avoid the occurrence of ridging as a result of the mattress dipping into the gaps between the slats. Such a barrier will make any mattress placed on the base feel slightly firmer.
All the mattresses referred to are double sided and have natural upholstery layers. If however, you are looking for a product with synthetic upholstery layers, the choice is more limited and I would suggest you look at the Origins Pocket Reflex 1000 or the Origins Pocket 1500, although the latter may not be quite firm enough for you both. We do not make any products which have a pillow top like the Sealy Adelaide as this type of construction imposes limits on the longevity of the product.
