Mattress recommendation for different spring tensions?

Do you have a recommendation for a king size bed that would suit us both?

Him: 10 stone, side or back sleeper
Her: 18 stone, only side sleeper, has lower back problems

We have just returned the Nectar memory foam mattress as it felt like sleeping on a rock and was hard to fall asleep on for both of us, and felt uncomfortable, but in fairness, it was okay for my back support in the morning and helped with my lower back pain. We want something that feels soft and comfortable to sink into, but offers the back support as well. I see your mattresses are recommended firm for a higher body weight - but I'm worried about ordering another mattress that ends up feeling like you're sleeping on a rock!

Hi Christy,

Thanks for your question,

I can definitely help point you in the right direction.

Based on your body weights a medium/firm spring tension is the right support for you. This will ensure that you both are correctly supported by the spring tension. From there you can put that to the back of your mind as this will not change unless your body weights do drastically.

The Artisan Naturals would be the best option for you both in the spring tension mentioned above. This is the best of both worlds in terms of sink and support. The 85% natural fibre count is designed to ensure side and back sleepers are correctly supported and comfortable. The initial comfort layer is 100% British fleece wool allowing you to sink into the upper layers whilst the 100% pure mohair underneath that gives additional support.

I believe this would be the best option to provide you with what you're looking for.

This mattress has calico encased pocket springs designed to provide you with most peaceful sleep possible by minimising motion transfer. So if you or your partner are light sleepers you shouldn't be disturbed. There are slightly firmer springs around the perimeter of the mattress to stabilise is when sitting on the edge.
