A customer asked

Dear Mike,
I have just ordered a king size wooden bedframe and am now looking to buy the mattress to go with it. I usually sleep alone, as I only see my partner on a fortnightly basis for two nights. I am 5'9" tall and weigh 10 1/2 stones. I currently sleep on a ten year old memory foam mattress from Dreams (Simmons Silhouette Collection - Antigua). I have suffered with a slightly achey lower back since having my first child ten years, but that could also be due to the mattress! Please can you advise as to which mattress would be suitable for my needs?
Many thanks,
Lesley

Hi Lesley,

For someone of your body weight I would recommend a medium tension mattress, however, even though your partner is only there fortnightly, it would be worth considering their weight because you don't want them to dread sleeping due to being uncomfortable.

Bodyweight Spring tension
Upto 16 Stone / 50-101kg Medium (1.4mm)
16 Stone / 101kg Upwards Firm (1.6mm)
Available in Bespoke Products (Please Call) Soft (1.2mm)

Without specific knowledge of your budget, it is difficult to recommend one of our products. However, the Hybrid range would be a good place to start. These have a similar feel to memory foam but without the heat retention and excess sagging.

Please call our office on 0161 437 4419  to advise both your budget and partner's weight at which point we will be able to provide you with more specific advice as to the suitability of one of our products. Kind regards Mike.
