Selecting the right mattress and base for us both

My husband is nearly 70 and I'm 66. We have recently moved, and our bodies are feeling the strain ! My husband is 5ft 7 and weighs 10st 4. I'm 5ft 4" and weigh 9st. We both suffer from aching joints, especially me with back and shoulder pain and my husband has lower back pain. Our current bed is now 8 years old and we need a new one which suits us both. We are both side sleepers. What mattress and base would you recommend for us. We don't want one that is too soft, as we need some support. We also don't want one that is too firm. This is sounding like Goldilocks and the 3 bears !! So just right please

Thanks for your question.
At your husbands body weight he is matched with a Medium spring tension to get the right support. You are borderline between a Soft and a Medium spring to get the right support. If you prefer a bit more give then choose the Soft spring or if you prefer that bit more support choose the Medium.

Being side sleepers you need to avoid anything too firm in the top layers as this will only cause pressure point pains in your shoulders, hips and knees.
Have a look at our Origins Pocket 1500 or our Artisan Naturals. Both have that medium upholstery but the main difference is that the Artisan range is constructed using natural fillings, which not only last longer as standard but also provide a cool sleep surface. The Origins range can't have the spring tensions altered but the Artisan mattresses can.
Both those models can be paired with any of our bases but the Origins is paired with a solid top base as standard and the Artisan range is paired with a sprung base as standard.
