A customer asked

My husband and I are looking to buy a new mattress. We currently have a sprung mattress and a memory foam mattress cover (about 1 inch thick. ) We do not want a very soft mattress or a very hard mattress. Something soft and comfortable , but not too squashy. The memory foam tends to make us too hot. We do not want to spend a fortune as we are moving house. What would you suggest?

Do we need to try it ?

We live in Doncaster. We do not mind an outlet or discontinued line . Thank you for your help Jane >

Hi Jane, Thanks for getting in touch.

We could do with finding out a few more details, such as your weight, height and what you have tried in stores to assist.  We make two ranges of pocket sprung mattresses and this information will indicate the spring tension you choose within the mattress, or the overall feel a mattress will create for the sleeper. For example, someone who is 5ft in height and weighs 14st, compared to someone 6ft in height and the same 14st body weight, will get a different level of comfort and support from the same mattress. As will someone of 8st compared to their partner on the same mattress who weighs 18st in weight.

Bodyweight Spring tension
Upto 16 Stone / 50-101kg Medium (1.4mm)
16 Stone / 101kg Upwards Firm (1.6mm)
Available in Bespoke Products (Please Call) Soft (1.2mm)

Artisan Bespoke 002

It would also help to know your budget so we can refine any recommendation.

You don’t need to try a mattress if you use our advice service, as we provide guidance on what would be suitable from our range given your preferences.

We also have our 60 day love it or return it guarantee.

Please telephone our office on 0161 437 4419 and speak to an Advisor who will be able to assist you further.

Kind regards Julie
