Type of mattress for side sleeper?

Robert

I am trying for the fifth time in 5 years to buy the right type of mattress to suit my situation. I am a side sleeper, left side, 151/2 stone and have a 46 inch chest. I have a latex top mattress with a 2000 mini pocket spring base section. I wake up 2 or 3 times per night with a pain between the shoulder blades and lower neck. Both hands feel tight and stiff around the knuckles and my right jaw feels tight as well. I have tried a memory foam top mattress with 1000 pocket springs and a 1500 pocket spring mattress with various materials in the top section. Memory is too hot for me even with no clothes on.
Can you please give me any of your well respected expert advice to help me choose the right mattress to meet my situation?
Many Thanks.

Hi Robert,

Many thanks for your enquiry.

All of the issues you describe are likely to be caused by you having a mattress which is too firm in the top layers for you as a side sleeper. With your particular body weight, we would suggest that you need a medium spring tension/feel mattress.

Bodyweight Spring tension
Upto 16 Stone / 50-101kg Medium (1.4mm)
16 Stone / 101kg Upwards Firm (1.6mm)
Available in Bespoke Products (Please Call) Soft (1.2mm)

There are a couple of products in our Origins range, which may suit and they are the Origins Pocket Latex 1500 or the Origins Pocket 1500 both of which have a standard medium spring and man made upholstery.

The Origins Pocket 1500 is the best seller in the Origins range as detailed at the foot of this response.

Alternatively, if your budget permits, you could view the Artisan Luxury, which can have the spring tension selected as soft, medium or firm, and has soft natural upholstery layers suitable for a side sleeper.

This should be selected with a medium spring tension as determined by your body weight.

We trust that this helps, but if you require any further advice or guidance, please call our office on 0161 437 4419,

Kind Regards Gary
