We need to replace our old pocket sprung with memory foam top mattress.I have back problems and turning over in bed is difficult and painful. I don't want memory foam again. I think I prefer a firmer mattress. I am abou 10 stone and my husband is about 13-14 stone.I did some trying out today and liked the Dunlopillow firm rest, the sealy 1400 latex pillow top (felt very luxurious) I tried a salus '100% latex' and a sealy posturepedic messina pocket 1400 7 zone pocket sprung. To be honest everything feels better than the one I'm sleeping on!We have a slatted bed base, not the springy slats. I am a front sleeper, but trying to train myself into my side as I'm not sure it's good for my back. My husband is a side sleeper. I think I sleep more comfortably when alone in bed, he's not a fidgeter but I wonder if the weight difference affects my comfort. Thanks in advance.

Hi M
Thanks for your question.

From the information you provided, we would guide you to our Fusion Latex range. The model in this range with a very similar feel and support level to the Dunlopillo Firmrest is the Fusion 6, this will give you the firmer feel you require at your body weight, with all the advantages of latex.

One of the advantages of latex and Hybrid foam mattresses are that they offer a very dead sensation, so when your husband moves, only where he sleeps should move.

We would recommend that you board over your slatted base with some MDF boards, to give the Fusion Latex mattress it's true optimum feel.

If you require any further assistance please call the office on 0161 437 4419.

Regards Gary
