TAKE OUR MATTRESS QUIZ

Edge support

Pauline Ritchens asked
23rd January 2017

My husband has MS and sits on the edge of the bed more than is usual. We have a wrought iron bedstead with a 3 inch solid base our current mattress is a Dunlopillo. The sides have lost their support and he is sliding off the bed. I was interested in a vi spring mattress but as they are expensive I do not want to find I have the same issue and wasted my money.
Can you recommend a king size mattress please?

Hi Pauline,

Thank you for your enquiry.

Some of the mattresses in our Artisan range are similar in feel only, to some of the models made by Vi-Spring and there is a link here advising those models. The Artisan range has natural upholstery and all models have firm springs around the perimeter to combat the feeling of rolling off, even with regular side sitting. We are not able to specify particular products from this range without knowledge of your body weights and preferred feel.

Your sleeping habits/personal preference will then determine how you would like the mattress to feel in the comfort layers. This is where you will achieve the feel you are looking for (soft/medium/firm). Do you know if you have a preference for a soft, medium of firm?

BodyweightSpring tension
Upto 16 Stone / 50-101kgMedium (1.4mm)
16 Stone / 101kg UpwardsFirm (1.6mm)
Available in Bespoke Products (Please Call)Soft (1.2mm)

If you do not, I would advise to go out and try the;
Vispring Devonshire – Soft in upper layers – Comparable with the Artisan Luxury
Vispring Regal Superb – True medium in upper layers – Comparable with Artisan Naturals
Vispring Herald – Firm in the upper layers – Comparable with the Artisan Bespoke

Please call our office on 0161 413 2656 and speak with one of our advisors and provide the above information referred to. They will then be better able to give specific advice as to the suitability of one of our products for you.

Kind regards.
