Hi Richard,

Thanks for getting in touch. It sounds like you’re in a bit of a pickle. Hopefully, we can help.

The issue you are faced with is that you’re never going to get the ‘perfect’ one piece mattress for both of your weights. There is too much of a variance we’re afraid. There are solutions though to get you as close as possible.

We do have a range of mattresses, the Resilience, specially made for 18 stone plus sleepers. It’s high-density V support foam that’s made especially for heavier weights and can take more strain than a cheaper memory foam can. Most retailers mattresses only support upto an 18 stone sleeper. We find this unfair so designed our own range that can accommodate up to 30 stones. We also sell them for people who want an ultra firm sleep surface even at say 12 stone.

Given you’re 14 stone 6 the Resilience 1 could be suitable for you both. It will be firm for you and medium for your partner.  two singles would work as none of our other mattresses would be suitable or a 26 stone sleeper we’re afraid. So we wouldn’t recommend a zip and link option either. If you prefer a softer sleep surface you could add an additional topper to your half to soften up the top layer.

If you wanted two single mattresses our advice would be to choose two that were a similar height. At your body weight, you would be looking at a medium spring. A close match for you both would be to match up a Resilience (32.5cm deep) with one of our other models for yourself ie an Origins Latex (33cm) or Origins 1500 (33cm). The Origins Latex would give a medium firm feel for you, the Origins 1500 a medium and the Resilience 1 or 2 a medium for your partner.

We wouldn’t be able to offer a zip and link in this combination so it would be two separate mattresses that you would need to push together then use an extra deep fitted sheet. It may require a bit more tweaking during your monthly sleep cycle to keep it all together but would at least get you both a mattress that’s suitable.

We hope that gives you some options Richard. If you want to discuss this further then please get in touch over the phone on 0161 437 4419.
